Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino had a cryptic response when asked about the contract situation of Christian Eriksen.
Football.london claims the Dane is out of contract in 2020 with Spurs in negotiations over a new deal. Speaking after our 3-0 win over Cardiff, where Eriksen scored a brilliant goal, Pochettino said (h/t Football.london):
“I don’t have news. The phrase is no news is good news, in that case I don’t know. No news is good news.”
The report adds that Barcelona are interested in the former Ajax man, and Eriksen was expected to pen a new deal with Spurs following in the footsteps of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Dele Alli.
The Dane is one of the best players in the Premier League and losing him would be a huge blow to the team.
The 26-year-old has picked up his game in recent weeks with four goals in his last five appearances in the Premier League.
We must do all we can to keep hold of the talented midfielder, even if Barcelona are interested in paying a huge sum for him.
Replacing someone of Eriksen’s quality is difficult, and keeping this team together is a real challenge for Mauricio Pochettino.

Spurs should be looking to add quality players into this team rather than letting go of players, and hopefully, a new deal between the player and club is agreed on soon.
