Real Madrid have made initial contact with Tottenham and are “hopeful” of signing Christian Eriksen for at least £100million, according to the Independent (h/t Sun).
The Dane is contracted with Tottenham till 2020, but talks over a new deal have not progressed enough. Mauricio Pochettino recently stated that Eriksen had the right to decide on his future as the player seeks a huge contract.
The report adds that the 26-year-old is stalling on a new deal but Spurs have offered him a contract worth up to £250,000-a-week.
Tottenham will ask Madrid for more than £100m if they cannot extend the stay of the former Ajax star (h/t Sun). A Madrid player could be thrown into the deal with Isco coming the other way, as per the report.
There is interest from Bayern Munich for Eriksen, however, the report claims that the Dane has his eyes set on Madrid and Barcelona only.
The Dane is one of the best players in the Premier League, and it will be a huge blow if we cannot extend his stay beyond 2020.
Eriksen came into this season with a bit of an injury issue but has been exceptional over the past month or so.
His performances have helped us into the top three in the Premier League and there should be more to come from the Dane as he is hitting his prime at Spurs.
Daniel Levy is a master at getting what he wants when selling a player, and hopefully, we end up with the best outcome regarding Eriksen.
