Mauricio Pochettino mixed his team’s line-up as they faced Chelsea in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final with Paulo Gazzaniga one of the stars of the night.
The Argentine replaced captain Hugo Lloris in between the sticks and had some key moments in the game.
Gazzaniga made a few easy saves but he kept Callum Hudson-Odoi’s deflected cross from going in, and did well when N’Golo Kante unleashed a thunderbolt.
It was important for the 27-year-old to be at his best as Chelsea bossed certain portions of the game. Gazzaniga has been incredible for us this season and was even our first-choice keeper when Lloris was out injured.
He seems to be a better player when compared to Michel Vorm, and the Argentine is yet to lose a game while playing for Spurs this season.
Granted most of these games have come in the Carabao Cup, it still is a decent achievement given that we have defeated Watford, West Ham and Arsenal in the tournament.
The Argentine seems to be getting better with each game under his belt this season, and many Tottenham fans praised Gazzaniga for his performance on Tuesday.
Some went a step further and believed he would be our No.1 soon, and here are some of the reactions from the Spurs fans.
