Tottenham will hold talks with Dutch striker Vincent Janssen as they could sell him in the winter transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.
The Dutch striker spent last season on loan at Fenerbahce and was injured prior to the start of this campaign.
The report adds that the 24-year-old was expected to leave in the summer, however, Mauricio Pochettino will speak with the player and Janssen could stay at Tottenham if he proves his worth to the manager.
Another player on the chopping block is Fernando Llorente, and the report adds that the Spaniard could be easier to sell in the January window.
Janssen returned to action for Spurs’ U23 side as they drew 1-1 against Liverpool, and it will be interesting to see if the Dutchman gets a run of games this month.
Tottenham are in the second half of the campaign and there are no easy games where Janssen could be risked.
Harry Kane has more or less started all of our Premier League games, and with tough Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Champions League ties on the horizon, there is little scope for resting the England captain.
Janssen could be paired alongside Kane, as we have seen Son Heung-min lead the line in a few games. The South Korean is expected to leave for the Asian Cup soon, and that could be the Dutch striker’s opportunity.
Llorente did his Tottenham career a huge favour by scoring a hat-trick against Tranmere, and it will be interesting to see what we do with the pair of reserve strikers in the coming month.
