Tottenham weren’t at their best against Chelsea in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final, but Harry Kane’s penalty in the first half was enough to separate the teams.

The Blues will rue their missed chances as Paulo Gazzaniga had to be at his best, and the Argentine posted his thoughts on the important win.

Our attack and defence did a decent enough job in the end with Davinson Sanchez partnering Toby Alderweireld. The Colombian dealt with the threat of Eden Hazard really well, and he was happy with the result at Wembley.

Another player that was in the wars was Moussa Sissoko. The French midfielder has become one of the key players this season, and he was at his best in midfield trying to break the Chelsea attack down.

There were some underwhelming performances from some stars, such as Christian Eriksen. The Dane didn’t have enough bright moments in the game to make a difference, however, the midfielder seemed happy with the 1-0 win.

Of course, there is one more leg to go, and Chelsea looked great today. Kane was happy with his goal but reminded everyone that the job isn’t complete yet.

Tottenham haven’t picked up any silverware under Mauricio Pochettino, and it is imperative we break that duck soon.

The Carabao Cup might not be the greatest trophy in the world, but we could build on the success of the competition should we win it.

We can’t get ahead of ourselves as Chelsea will come back at Stamford Bridge, but this team looks confident of getting the right result in the second leg.
