Edin Dzeko is the latest player being linked with a move to Tottenham, according to La Repubblica (h/t Football.london).
The 32-year-old Bosnian has done a great job at AS Roma in recent years but has struggled to find the back of the net this season.
The former Manchester City striker has just two goals from 16 league appearances for the Serie A giants, and the report claims that West Ham United will battle us for the 32-year-old’s signature.
Tottenham need to find a short-term solution to the Harry Kane problem as the England captain is expected to be out until mid-March. The Englishman picked up an ankle injury in the loss to Manchester City, and this is a major blow to our hopes of ending the season on a high.
The report adds that the Bosnian has a contract until 2020, and the best offer for the 32-year-old could see him leave the Serie A giants. Dzeko’s Premier League experience will be of great use for us but he isn’t in the same mould as Kane. The 32-year-old is great in the air but his ground game isn’t comparable to the Spurs man.
It will be interesting to see how we cope with the Englishman’s injury with Mauricio Pochettino recently hinting that he would give chances to youngsters now.

Tottenham were the only club not to dip into the transfer market in the summer, and it seems likely they won’t be making any major moves in January too.
