Spurs transfer news: Nicolas Tagliafico open to move away from Ajax
Tottenham target Nicolas Tagliafico has opened up about his future plans, which includes a possible move to the Premier League.
The 26-year-old left-back has been excellent for Ajax this season and helped them beat Real Madrid in the round of 16 in the Champions League.
Speaking to the Mirror ahead of their quarter-final clash against Juventus, Tagliafico claimed he could be on the move in the summer:
“I think in the summer it could be a natural time to take the step.”
The left-back added that he wasn’t thinking about the move just yet as there are many games left in the campaign, but did not hide his admiration for the Premier League:
“Yes, it’s flattering because I think it’s the most competitive league. When you are a child, the target is to come to Europe and play in a top league like the Premier League. I came to Ajax because of the philosophy, the style of football and the club.”
Tagliafico knows that Ajax sell
The Ajax defender added that he was a little late coming to Europe, however, he had to take the risk.
Tagliafico further claimed that the Dutch giants are used to selling their players and this season has been special as the team have done an excellent job.
Frenkie de Jong, one of the Ajax stars, has already joined Barcelona, and the Argentine defender is having a wonderful season.
The 26-year-old has already rejected a new deal with the Dutch giants and has 5 goals and 4 assists to his name. The Argentine international can also play in the heart of the defence, and he seems set for a big move away from Ajax in the summer.
