Latest Spurs news: Tottenham fans unsure about Bale as Zidane hints at exit
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has hinted that Gareth Bale might not be in the Spanish capital as the La Liga giants slumped to a 2-0 loss at home to Real Betis.
The Welshman was on the bench and was not given a run out as the fans booed the players after the final whistle.

The Spanish media report (h/t Telegraph) that Bale will not be a Real Madrid player next season, and Zidane was asked if Bale deserved to play one final game, to which he replied (h/t Telegraph):
“I’m sorry he didn’t get to play, but no-one knows what will happen.
“If I think a player doesn’t fit in the team I have to do what I think works best. No-one can change what Bale has done for the team, but as a coach I have to live in the present.
“I make these decisions when it is right to do so, and I must act in the best interests of the team at all times.”
Bale was the hero for Real in the last Champions League final as he scored two goals for the side and helped them to the title.
However, this season has been a struggle for most Real players and the Times (h/t Mirror) even claim that Bale could be released for free by the La Liga side.
Tottenham interested in Bale
The Mirror adds that Tottenham are keeping tabs on their former player and it will be interesting to see if we make a move should Bale be released on a free.
Bale earns a staggering £13million at Real (h/t Mirror) but has the ability to be a match-winner on any day.
The Welshman could do a great job under Mauricio Pochettino but several fans were split over moving for the 29-year-old.
Bale might have some unfinished business at Spurs but his wage and age seem to be a problem for many.
Why on earth are some fans against signing bale? Great player, still has many years left in him and not to mention 4 times UCL winner! We would be lucky to have a player of his calibre. Go get him Levy #THFC #COYS

Will always RESPECT Bale time at THFC but to our club NOTHING now, he does not fit , different player injury prone and we are a different club. Wages better spent with youth elsewhere he’s gonna turn 30 soon… COYS

Don’t understand why people even want Bale back .. and that’s coming from the ultimate Bale fangirl from 2011 #COYS

How are any of you saying no to a Gareth Bale return? I’d carry him home from Madrid myself! We’re a world class signing and a few dependables in CM and CB away from being a top team & you people are wanting a Zaha over Bale 😂😂😂 genuinely think our supporters are stupid #COYS

I think we all know Bale is a bit of a prima donna. Magnificent player in his pomp, of course, but age and injuries have diminished him. I don’t believe we’re remotely interested in him. He’s not a Poch player. Let’s dispense with this tabloid fantasy and move on #COYS #THFC

Bale is not the answer
We need players who can last 10 games in a row not 2 #TTID #coys #thfc #yidarmy— JAZJONES (@JAZJONES17) May 19, 2019
