Spurs transfer news: Tottenham and Arsenal interested in Turkish star Cengiz Under

Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Football.London) reports that Tottenham and Arsenal are interested in Turkish star Cengiz Under.

The AS Roma attacker scored 6 goals and provided 8 assists in all competitions this season, and made 33 appearances for the Serie A side.

Roma missed out on Champions League qualification this season, and the report claims that both the North London sides want Under at their club.

Under can play out wide or as an attacking midfielder and Spurs have been linked with the Turkish star earlier too (h/t Daily Mail).

The 21-year-old has to take the next step for his development, and working under Mauricio Pochettino could be the right move for him.

The Argentine has worked wonders with some players in the Premier League, and it will be interesting to see if Under leaves the Serie A in the summer.

More young attackers at Tottenham?

Tottenham have a pretty good first XI but we could do with more quality options off the bench. Under could provide a lot of competition for places to the first-team stars.

The Turk’s versatility in playing several positions would also be used well by Pochettino. Tottenham also need quality cover for the likes of Lucas Moura, Son Heung-min and Erik Lamela.

The team has been stretched to its limit this season due to several injuries and we need to sign players in the summer window.
