Spurs transfer news: Tottenham interested in signing Kieran Tierney

The Scotsman (h/t Sun) claims that Tottenham could move for Kieran Tierney of Celtic.

The 22-year-old has been one of Celtic’s most impressive players in recent years, and the left-back played 40 games for the Scottish giants last season.

The report adds that Arsenal are interested in the 22-year-old but Tottenham could swoop for Tierney if the Gunners do not stump up £25m.

Tottenham could do with another defender coming in, with the club confirming that Danny Rose has not travelled for the Asia tour.

The English left-back will try to finalise a move away from Spurs in the summer, and the report claims that Ryan Sessegnon is another target for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Tierney was linked with Spurs last season

Celtic rejected a £15m bid from Arsenal, and the Scottish defender was linked with a move to Tottenham in the previous summer (h/t Sun).

The 22-year-old would be a great replacement for Rose, and it will be interesting to see who we land in the summer.

Losing Rose would see Tottenham left with just Ben Davies as a senior left-back.

Sessegnon has tons of potential and knows the English game well, but he didn’t have a great Premier League campaign last time around.

Tierney has played more topflight games than Sessegnon, however, the Scottish Premiership is not at the same level as the Premier League.
