Real Madrid see Mauricio Pochettino as best option to replace Zinedine Zidane
The Mirror reports that Real Madrid are ready to make a fresh approach for Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine remained in charge of Spurs in the summer but hasn’t seen the best out of his team yet. Tottenham have had some disappointing results in recent weeks and several players have been out injured.
That hasn’t helped us make a great start to the season and our latest disappointment was the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Leicester.
Madrid aren’t doing too well under Zinedine Zidane either despite splashing huge in the summer. The Spanish giants lost 3-0 to PSG in the Champions League, although they are faring better in La Liga.
The report claims that Real will make Pochettino their first
Pochettino’s future lies with Spurs
The manager signed a new five-year deal with the club in 2018 and has spoken of his commitment to the project.
However, the report claims that Real will not be flustered by the situation and have been linked with Argentine in the past.
Pochettino has the experience of managing in Spain where he did a great job at Barcelona’s city rivals Espanyol. However, Zidane only rejoined Madrid recently and it would be a major shock if he gets sacked this season.
