Tottenham might have to spend close to £120m if they are to replace these two first-team stars

Tottenham have a tough rebuilding job should their defenders leave in the summer

The Daily Mail reports that Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen leaving Tottenham would leave a massive and expensive hole in the team.

The outlet claims that Jan Vertonghen could also leave once his contract runs out in the summer, and Tottenham would be under pressure to find quality replacements for their stars.

Alderweireld and Vertonghen have been excellent under Mauricio Pochettino, however, they haven’t had the best of starts in this season.

The Belgian pair has grown under the manager, and the Daily Mail claims that it could cost Spurs close to £120m to replace the duo.

Spurs do have Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez to call upon, but they are still young and are learning their trade under the manager. Foyth is also seen as a possible right-back this season while Sanchez has also played in that position too.

Tough decisions in line for Spurs

Pochettino and Daniel Levy will have to make some tough calls in the winter and summer windows regarding some of our stars.

Losing Eriksen, Alderweireld and Vertonghen for free would be a huge financial loss for the team, and replacing them with quality players won’t be easy either.

Spurs have spent big this summer, landing Tanguy Ndombele, and it will be interesting to see what our plans are for the future.

Tottenham signed Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso this summer, however, they haven’t started for us this season due to injuries.
