Xavi open to managing a top team like Tottenham in the future
Barcelona legend Xavi is one of the greatest midfielders in the history of the game.
The Spaniard won several honours with the Catalans and it was a bit of a surprise to see him join a Qatari side after his Barcelona days.
The 39-year-old is now the manager of Al Saad but told Sky Sports that his main aim is to return to Barcelona as their manager.
“I don’t hide it, my goal is to return to Europe and return to Barca, it is my challenge ahead, but I’m still learning in this project and I’m also enjoying it.”
However, the midfield maestro was open to managing in the Premier League, with Tottenham one of the clubs that he named:
“That is my goal, but obviously, who doesn’t like the Premier League? The football atmosphere, the packed stadiums and the people who play in the Premier League say it’s extraordinary.
“Obviously if I had to choose, I would choose a big team, [Manchester] City or United, Chelsea, Arsenal or Tottenham.”
The Spaniard also named Mauricio Pochettino as someone who has done an “extraordinary job”, along with Jurgen Klopp and Unai Emery.
Xavi still has to learn a lot about the management aspect of the game, and it will be interesting to see where he moves once his Qatar chapter is done.
Pochettino one of the best in the world
The Argentine might not have won a trophy so far with Tottenham, however, he still is one of the best in the world.
