Jose Mourinho is eyeing the Tottenham managerial post
Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is open to taking over at Tottenham, according to the Daily Mail (h/t Mirror).
Mauricio Pochettino is under a lot of pressure after a poor start to the season and recently lost 3-0 to Brighton.
Mourinho has turned down jobs at Benfica and Guangzhou Evergrande, but could take over at Tottenham should Pochettino leave (h/t Mirror). The former Real Madrid and Inter Milan manager has been out of a job since getting the sack at United.
The Red Devils have struggled more under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, and lie just two points above the relegation zone.
Waiting for the right job
Mourinho recently stated he was open to taking up a role that matched his stature and was waiting for the right opportunity (h/t Mirror):
“I have to be patient and wait for the right opportunity and the right opportunity is one that is at the same size and the same level that I am as a manager. I have to wait for the exact right one.”
