German giants see Tottenham star as a cheaper alternative for Brazilian midfielder

Bayern Munich see Christian Eriksen as cheaper option than Philippe Coutinho

Bayern Munich are the latest giants to be linked with Christian Eriksen, according to Sport 1 (h/t Sky Sports).

The Bundesliga giants have a fantastic squad at hand but are interested in landing the Dane, who is a free agent in the summer.

The report adds that the Bavarians will fight Real Madrid for the signature of Eriksen. However, the Dane is open to leaving London for Munich (h/t Sky Sports).

The Tottenham star is one of the most creative players in the Premier League, and Bayern see him as a replacement for a summer signing.

Eriksen to replace Coutinho?

Philippe Coutinho had a woeful time at Barcelona and was allowed to join Bayern on loan in the summer.

However, the Germans see Eriksen as a cheaper option to Coutinho and he could be signed for nothing in January (h/t Sky Sports).

The Dane could do a great job at Bayern but Coutinho has had a decent start to his career in Germany.

The Brazilian has two goals and two assists from six Bundesliga games and was one of the stars during the Copa America. Eriksen, for his part, has struggled for form this season and only has one goal and an assist.

Eriksen wanted to try something in the summer, and it will be interesting to see where he plays next season.
