Sam Allardyce backs Mauricio Pochettino to snub Manchester United job
Former Everton and England manager Sam Allardyce has backed Mauricio Pochettino to stick with Tottenham.
Manchester United and Spurs have had poor starts to the season, and Pochettino has been linked with the job at Old Trafford (h/t Metro).
However, the Red Devils are below Spurs in the table, and Allardyce claims Tottenham have a better side than United (h/t Metro):
“I can’t see Mauricio going anywhere at the moment
“At the moment, Tottenham
are a better squad than Manchester United – and that is a telling fact.“It’s alright saying, ‘this is Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in the world’, but has it got the team to go with it to represent Manchester United?”
Tottenham are still in a better place than United
Although our season has been far from satisfactory, Spurs are capable of turning things around. Pochettino is one of the top managers in the world and just needs to tweak certain things in the team.
United, for their part, don’t seem to have a proper game plan and most of the players aren’t doing well.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer started his career at Old Trafford with a bang but after becoming the permanent manager, things haven’t been great.
They lie two points off the relegation zone and face Liverpool after the international break. Tottenham
Allardyce is right in suggesting we have a better squad than the Red Devils, and it is time for the players to step up.
