Erik Lamela misses out on Everton clash with hamstring problem
Tottenham have been dealt an injury blow before the game against Everton. Spurs need to pick up three points after a poor start to the season but will be without the services of Erik Lamela.
The Argentine has been a little better than most of our stars this season. Lamela has three goals and three assists this campaign, and his absence will be a big blow to the side.
Tottenham didn’t fare all that well against Liverpool in their previous outing and were handed a 2-1 defeat.
Everton are also struggling, however, they won their Carabao Cup fixture in midweek and will look to carry that momentum into Sunday’s game.
Lamela would have given more bite to our attack and it will be interesting to see how we line up at Goodison Park.
Vertonghen a doubt for the clash
Jan Vertonghen is another player who has struggled for form this season, and the Belgian is also a major doubt for the game. The 32-year-old could still feature for Spurs, however, it would be a risk to play him with a hamstring issue.
Spurs also have an important Champions League game in the midweek and we need to beat Red Star to have a fighting chance of qualifying from the group.

Bringing Vertonghen back for that game makes more sense, and luckily we have cover for the Belgian – Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth.
