AC Milan to end interest in Tottenham-linked Everton Soares
Italian giants AC Milan have ended their interest in Gremio star Everton Soares, according to Calciomercato (h/t Football.london).
The Brazilian forward has also been linked with Tottenham in recent weeks, however, Milan believe Soares is too expensive (h/t Football.london).
The 23-year-old signed a new deal recently and his release clause is over £100million (h/t Football.london).
That would be a huge amount to pay for a footballer who hasn’t played in Europe. However, Gremio are willing to accept a lower fee for the 23-year-old striker (h/t Football.london). Soares featured for the national side in their 2019 Copa America win and even scored in the final against Peru.
The 23-year-old joined Gremio from Fortaleza in 2012 and has made quite a mark with his current club. Soares helped Gremio win the Copa Libertadores in 2017 and the Recopa Sudamericana a year later.
The Brazilian has also scored 12 goals in all competitions for Gremio this season and is now a regular for the national team.
Tottenham could do with another forward
Our attack looked out of sorts in the draw against Everton, especially since Harry Kane didn’t feature in the game.
Lucas Moura barely did anything noteworthy and it will be interesting to see if we move for new players in the winter window. We didn’t replace Fernando Llorente in the summer and don’t have proper cover for Kane.
