Tottenham contact Andre Onana’s agent over possible move for keeper
Tottenham have contacted Andre Onana’s agent, Albert Botines, and are interested in signing the Ajax goalkeeper, according to De Telegraaf (h/t Mirror).
Spurs are without the services of club captain Hugo Lloris until the end of the year. The Frenchman dislocated his elbow in the loss to Brighton and Paulo Gazzaniga has had to step up.
The Argentine has done a decent job in goal, however, Spurs face competition from Manchester United and PSG for Onana’s signature (h/t Mirror).
Ajax want between £34.5m and £43m for the 23-year-old keeper (h/t Mirror). The report adds that all the clubs interested in Onana have spoken to his agent about a possible deal.
Lloris’ struggles at the back
The Frenchman has made a few mistakes in goal and was even arrested for drink driving last season. Lloris is 32 and Tottenham need to think about the future of their goalkeeping position.
Gazzaniga is 27 and this is his chance to stake a claim for that spot. Spurs also signed Michel Vorm after Lloris’ injury despite letting his contract run out earlier.
The Dutch keeper was on our books since leaving Swansea, but shouldn’t be needed unless Gazzaniga also picks up a problem.
