Jose Mourinho plots Gareth Bale return as new Tottenham manager
Jose Mourinho is planning an incredible move to re-sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid.
The new Tottenham boss has a lot of work to do after a tough start to the season. Mauricio Pochettino was replaced by the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan manager, and there could be some big moves on the horizon.
AS (h/t Sun) claims that Mourinho is plotting a move to bring Bale back to Tottenham. The Welsh winger joined Real from Spurs in 2013, however, he hasn’t had the best of relationships with current manager Zinedine Zidane (h/t Telegraph).
The 30-year-old seemed set to move to the Chinese Super League in the summer but Real blocked that move (h/t Sun).
Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, has also claimed that a winter move from the Spanish capital would not take place (h/t Sun).
Euro 2020 celebrations could see Bale move
The Welshman helped his nation seal a place in Euro 2020 and his celebrations didn’t go down well.
Bale and his teammates held a Welsh flag which said “Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order”.
That could open the door for Mourinho to swoop in but Manchester United are also keen on the 30-year-old (h/t Sun).
Bale could still do a job for a top club, but he isn’t a long-term solution given his age.
