Jan Vertonghen and Tanguy Ndombele to be assessed before West Ham clash
Jose Mourinho could be without two big players for his first game as Tottenham manager.
The Portuguese replaced Mauricio Pochettino and his first clash is a trip to the London Stadium.
West Ham host us on Saturday and Tottenham confirmed that Erik Lamela and Michel Vorm are out of the clash.
Hugo Lloris won’t be back until 2020 as he recovers from his dislocated elbow. However, Vorm picked up a calf strain in training on Monday while Lamela has a hamstring problem.
The report adds that Jan Vertonghen also has a hamstring issue while summer signing Tanguy Ndombele is dealing with a groin problem.
The pair will be assessed before the game, and it will be interesting to see if they can play on Saturday.
Ndombele has been one of the bright spots this season after joining from Lyon. The Frenchman scored on his Premier League debut and is a great presence in the midfield.
Vertonghen hasn’t been all that great this season but Mourinho could use the Belgian’s experience.
Mourinho has a tough job on his hands
The former Chelsea and Manchester United manager has done some great things during his career.
However, the Spurs job could be his toughest given the situation we are in. Tottenham sit 11 points off the top four but Mourinho has time on his hands to turn things around.
Facing West Ham is far from an easy game, especially with just two days under the new manager.
