Ben Davies ruled out of Olympiakos clash while two stars return to training
Ben Davies did a decent job in the win over West Ham United but will not play in midweek.
The 26-year-old helped Tottenham beat West Ham in Jose Mourinho’s first game in charge, however, an ankle injury has ruled him out (h/t Tottenham Twitter).
The Welshman replaced Danny Rose in the starting XI and Mourinho might have to bring the Englishman back.
Spurs confirmed Davies missing the game, but there was some good news for the team too.
Jan Vertonghen and Tanguy Ndombele are back in training, and it will be interesting to see if they are selected for the clash.
Possible changes from Mou?
Ndombele started this season in impressive fashion but has missed a few games with injuries.
Vertonghen is a free agent in the summer and hasn’t been at his best for us. Mourinho started Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld in the heart of the defence.
Eric Dier also started in the win over the Hammers, and we need to get the three points against the Greek side.
Mourinho might mix things around given that we play Bournemouth at the weekend. Our game after that sees us travel to Old Trafford, and the boss will want to show what his new team can do.
