The Kenyan powerhouse, who joined us in the summer of 2016, has been out of favour and has made only three appearances this season.

With Hertha Berlin looking to bolster their midfield, Wanyama, at the age of 28, represents a perfect target who is of the ideal age and experienced enough to compete with the best.

Under Klinsmann, Hertha are capable of climbing up the Bundesliga table but they must strengthen their squad in January.

Klinsmann is a Tottenham legend, who has had two spells with the club. Hertha could make use of his stature to smoothen a deal for Wanyama.

Wanyama played for Celtic from 2011 to 2013 and made 91 appearances for the Scottish giants.
