Barcelona to let Coutinho leave for £85million amidst Tottenham interest

According to El Desmarque, Barcelona are open to letting Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho leave the Nou Camp for £85m. (h/t Daily Star)

It represents a significant loss for a player who cost the Catalans £142million just under two seasons ago. (h/t ESPN)

With the Brazilian attacker’s dream move to Barcelona going sour, there was wide speculation regarding his future in the summer with a host of English clubs interested – including Tottenham.

A loan approach from Tottenham was rejected by the player, who ultimately decided to move to Bayern Munich on a season-long loan.

Coutinho has had a largely positive impact at the Allianz Arnea and has notched up an impressive 7 goals and 7 assists in 22 appearances for the Bundesliga giants. (h/t Whoscored)

Bayern do have an option to sign Coutinho permanently in the summer for £102million. Although it remains to be seen if Munich will decide to exercise the clause.

If the Bavarians decide to pass on Coutinho, a move to the Premier League looks likely with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham all interested. (h/t ESPN)
