Tottenham are keen to re-sign Welsh superstar Gareth Bale
Tottenham Hotspur are keen on re-signing Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale in the January transfer window. (h/t Express)
Mourinho has been keen on adding to his squad in the January window following the injuries to Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko and Tanguy Ndombele. Signing Bale would be a statement given the Welsh international’s pedigree and status.
Bale currently earns £650,000-a-week at Madrid and it is difficult to imagine us offering anything close to the figure. A loan deal for the player is out of the question, with Madrid keen on a permanent switch.
The six-time Welsh player of the year has been a hit in the Spanish capital and was a part of the Madrid squad that won four UEFA Champions League crowns from 2013 to 2018.
Bale has, however, never been a fan favourite with the Madrid faithful and has received nowhere near the adulation he was used to at White Hart Lane. Injuries have limited the winger’s appearances this season, with him making just 17 appearances.
Tottenham have made just one signing this month, with Portuguese midfielder Gedson Fernandes joining on loan. The signing of Bale can be a gamechanger in our push for the top-four.

Bale spent six fruitful years at Tottenham where he went from a promising talent to a superstar. He made 203 appearances for us, scoring 55 goals. He started out as a left-back before being transformed into a world-class winger. It remains to be seen if any deal can be reached for the winger.
