Twitter reacts to Tottenham potentially drawing Norwich in the FA Cup
Tottenham Hotspur will play Norwich City at home in the fifth round of the FA Cup – provided they can beat Southampton in the fourth-round replay.
Although on paper it is a good draw, Norwich have made Spurs work hard both times in the English Premier League this season. Tottenham drew 2-2 away at Carrow road and won 2-1 against the Canaries at home in the return fixture.
Norwich, to their credit, brought the game to us and could have gone away from London with at least a point had they taken their chances.
It is still a favourable draw for Spurs and gives us a good opportunity to make it to the quarter-finals. The FA Cup remains our biggest opportunity to win a trophy this season and the team must take full advantage of the draw.
Jose Mourinho’s side will have to up their game to beat Southampton in the replay next week. The Saints dominated for vast spells and could have punished us if not for their profligacy.
Tottenham take on Southampton in the replay on 5th February at home. The winner of the tie will face Norwich at home a month later. Spurs have won the FA Cup eight times with the last victory coming in 1991.
The draw was viewed as an advantage by a number of Spurs fan who took to Twitter to express their views.
