Twitter reacts as Heung Son-Min wins it in stoppage time at Villa Park
It wasn’t pretty but it was the result that counted. Tottenham moved to within one point of fourth-placed Chelsea thanks to Heung Son-Min.
The South Korean scored his second of the night with seconds left on the clock to ensure Spurs left Villa Park with all three points. With the strike, the South Korean also became the first Asian player to score 50 goals in the English Premier League.
It was vindication for the 27-year-old who was denied numerous times by an inspired Reina in goal. He, however, had the last laugh as he pounced onto Bjorn Engels’ mistake to run through at goal before dispatching it at the far corner.
Aston Villa took the lead in the ninth minute, courtesy of a Toby Alderweireld own goal. The Belgian responded by equalizing for his side in the 27th minute.
Spurs took the lead in first-half stoppage time when Son pounced on the rebound after Reina had saved his initial penalty. Villa came out strong in the second half and equalized, thanks to Bjorn Engels in the 53rd minute.
Tottenham had a number of chances to win the game, with Dele Alli, Son and Steven Bergwijn all going close. Jose Mourinho’s side, however, capitalized on Engels’ late mistake to ensure they left Villa with all three points.
Tottenham fans were thrilled at the victory and took to Twitter to praise Son. We take a look at some of the tweets here.

Heung-min Son may be the most frustrating player in the world at times, but he is one of the few elite players we have. 6 goals in 5 games. Absolutely adore him.

Playing like absolute shite and then scoring the winner like that is some serious Mo Salah/Gareth Bale energy from Heung-min Son.
