“Gutted”, “Season Over”- Some Tottenham fans left devastated as key star is set to undergo surgery
Twitter reacts as Heung-Min Son sidelined for weeks with a fractured arm
Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a massive injury blow with forward Heung-Min Son set to undergo surgery this week. (h/t Tottenham Hotspur)
The Korean star was the hero at the weekend as he scored twice including an injury-time winner in Tottenham’s 3-2 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park.
The goal can have huge ramifications in the race for fourth place. Chelsea’s loss to United has brought Tottenham within a point of their city rivals with the duo set to face off next week.
The 27-year-old injured his arm in a collision with Ezri Konsa, less than a minute after kickoff. He received treatment for the same immediately after the incident and also at half-time (h/t Mirror)
The South Korean, to his credit, brushed off his injury to score twice in the game later on. Unfortunately, scans after the game have shown the player nursing a fracture below his elbow. He is now set to undergo a surgery that will keep him out for a number of weeks. (h/t Mirror)
The official club statement also went on to say that Spurs will review management options for the player’s rehabilitation. (h/t Tottenham Hotspur)
Son’s absence will be a bitter blow for Spurs as the club have come within touching distance of the top four. With Harry Kane already out, the onus will now fall on Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn to carry the attack.
Several Spurs fans were crestfallen at the news and took to Twitter to express their anguish. we take a look at some of the tweets below.
Twitter reacts to Son’s injury
We really really really need to step up Parrott's progress asap . We need a focal man , a target man more than ever. Lucas isn't a striker. Dele could never play that role either.

It's a shame we didn't just have a transfer window to buy a back up striker… oh wait.
Well done Mr Levy hope you are happy.

Out for several weeks. Surgery. Well, those that wanted him subbed off can see what this team do w/o him. Son played with a broken arm yesterday and still scored 2. Plenty of people slating him afterwards. Time to see what the new guys can do. Fingers crossed.
