Jose Mourinho thinks Troy Parrott is not yet ready to lead Spurs attack
Jose Mourinho has dismissed the notion of Troy Parrott being ready to lead the Tottenham attack, according to Football.London.
Having already lost Harry Kane to injury in January, Spurs were further rocked by the injury sustained by Son Heung-Min against Aston Villa. The South Korean star is set to undergo a surgery that is expected to keep him out for the foreseeable future.
With Son potentially out for the rest of the season, the focus has one again shifted to Troy Parrott. The 18-year-old is the only fit specialist striker in the Spurs squad.
Speaking ahead of the UEFA Champions League match against RB Leipzig, the Tottenham boss dismissed the idea of Parrott leading the line.
“My thoughts are that Troy Parrott is not ready and Ryan Sessegnon is not a striker”

The 18-year-old is one of Tottenham’s best young players. The youngster impressed in his first start for Spurs in a pre-season friendly against Juventus and also grabbed an assist. He has so far made just two appearances for Tottenham’s senior side. He made his debut off the bench in the 5-0 win over Burnley in December.
Mourinho had earlier stated that the youngster needs to go out on loan and that it is upto the club to provide him with the best opportunities to progress. With Spurs entering the business end of the season, it could just be a case of the Portuguese protecting his young starlet from undue pressure so as to continue his development.
