Tottenham squad the ninth most valuable in Europe according to CIES
According to research conducted by CIES Football Observatory, last season’s UEFA Champions League runners-up, Tottenham Hotspur have the ninth most valuable squad in Europe.
Spurs are the fifth English team in the top ten. Liverpool and Manchester City lead the list while the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United occupy the fifth and sixth positions respectively.
According to the report, Tottenham are valued at €787million and are ahead of footballing giants such as Juventus and Bayern Munich. It will please the Spurs faithful to know that we are also ahead of Arsenal. The Gunners are currently in 15th spot and are valued at €624million.
A testament to our coaches and recruitment
It is a remarkable achievement for the club considering the amount we spend in the transfer market. We are not a club that chooses to splash the cash and the fact that we are valued so highly is a testament to the coaching and the development shown by the players.
The likes of Son Heung-Min, Davinson Sanchez and co. have improved dramatically since joining us. Meanwhile, players such as Giovani Lo Celso are looking better with every passing game. If the players continue to develop under Jose Mourinho, there is no reason why we cannot rise any further in the years to come.
The rankings are based on the value of players and use a number of variables including age, performances, career progression and contract duration. With a number of young players coming through the ranks, the chances of their values rising are likely.
Harry Kane is our lone representative in the top ten valuable players list. The ace striker is valued at €150.5million. Dele Alli is the second-highest Spurs player on the list as he takes the 25th spot on the list.

Tottenham are currently 8th in the table, 7 points behind 4th-placed Chelsea. The suspension of the league could prove to be beneficial. It gives us the leeway to get some of our best players fit in time to resume playing.
