Tottenham Hotspur could land Paulo Dybala as a part of Harry Kane deal
According to FourFourTwo (h/t Football.london), Serie A giants Juventus could offer Argentine star Paulo Dybala in part-exchange for star striker Harry Kane.
The Italian champions remain keen on Kane as they look to wrap a summer transfer. They want the English superstar to partner Cristiano Ronaldo up front. Juventus view the Spurs star as someone who can fulfil the role Karim Benzema played alongside Ronaldo at Real Madrid.
Kane is Tottenham’s top scorer this season and has scored 17 goals in 25 appearances so far. Spurs value him at £135million, an expensive proposition even for the likes of Juventus.
Juventus will hope to get the player at a lower value and could throw in the prodigious Dybala as a sweetener. The 26-year-old is one of Serie A’s best attackers and has an impressive 13 goals and 12 assists in 34 appearances this season.
Having joined from Palermo in 2015, Dybala is a world-class talent who has represented the I Bianconeri more than 200 times, netting almost 100 goals for the club. A three-time Serie A team of the year member, Dybala will be a quality addition to our side.
What if?
The Argentine is a versatile player who can play anywhere along the frontline and was linked with a move to Tottenham last summer. According to Daily Mail, the deal was agonizingly close to being completed before it broke down.
Dybala changed his mind hours before he was due to sign the contract with Tottenham, citing inspiration Gonzalo Higuain’s determination to get back into Juventus’ starting XI. He has since gone on to establish himself a regular in the side. It would have been interesting to see how he would have done in North London had the move gone through.
