Transfer news: Ligue 1 side want £94m for 21-year-old striker linked with Tottenham

Lille slap £94m price tag on Tottenham target Victor Osimhen

Ligue 1’s Lille have slapped a £94m asking price on Tottenham target Victor Osimhen, according to Le10Sport (h/t Express).

Lille sold Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal for £72m at the start of this season (h/t Express), and they want a big amount for Osimhen too.

There is a lot of interest in the 21-year-old forward with Liverpool and Tottenham keen on him (h/t Express).

The Nigerian signed for Lille at the start of this season and has done well. The 21-year-old scored 13 goals and provided four assists from 27 Ligue 1 games this season.

He also scored a pair of goals in the Champions League this season and featured for Nigeria during the AFCON. Osimhen has also attracted interest from Spanish clubs with Barcelona and Real Madrid also keen on the forward (h/t Express).

Spurs unsure of spending huge on striker

For all the talk of Osimhen and his huge price tag, the report claims it is unclear if any club will spend £94m on the forward.

That is a huge amount for any club in the world, let alone Spurs, but we require some forward options after our problems this season.

We went into the campaign sans Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen. Both struggled to score regularly for us but our failure to replace them has cost us in the latter stages of the campaign.

Harry Kane injured his hamstring and has more or less been shelved for the rest of the campaign. Worse was to follow as Son Heung-min fractured his arm and was ruled out for the season.

That has left us with Lucas Moura as the only out and out forward and the Brazilian hasn’t been able to get the goals.
