Harry Kane has refused to rule out an exit from Tottenham
In an Instagram chat with Sky Sports’ Jamie Redknapp (h/t Sky Sports), Harry Kane has hinted at a possible exit from Tottenham Hotspur in the future if he doesn’t feel he can achieve his goals at the club.
A graduate from our academy, Kane has grown into one of the deadliest marksmen in the game over the past five years. The 26-year-old has scored 181 goals for Tottenham in 278 matches, and is already third in the club’s all-time leading goalscorers list.
There have been speculations over his future at Tottenham of late though (h/t Mirror), and Kane has fueled those rumours by admitting that he might have to leave the club eventually if his ambitions aren’t fulfilled. Speaking to Jamie Redknapp on Instagram Live, the Spurs’ star said (h/t Sky Sports):
“It’s one of those things, I couldn’t say yes, I couldn’t say no. I love Spurs, I’ll always love Spurs. I’ve always said if I don’t feel we’re progressing as a team or going in the right direction, then I’m not someone to just stay there for the sake of it.”
Kane further added that he desires to “become one of the top, top players” in the game and if the team does not progress in the right direction he may have to consider leaving the club at some point.
The 26-year-old also revealed his frustration at not having been able to win any trophies at Tottenham till date, despite having made it to the finals of the League Cup and the Champions League under Mauricio Pochettino.

Prior to the season getting suspended, Kane had scored 17 goals this term until a thigh injury he sustained in January ruled him out of action. The England captain is closing in on a return though, which would be a boost for our top-four hopes once the season resumes.
It is natural for any footballer to dream of becoming a top player and winning loads of trophies. And the same goes for Kane as well. We can only hope that his career ambitions are fulfilled with our club rather than any other team.
