The Premier League has been suspended at least until April 30 due to the coronavirus pandemic. With the entire country under lockdown, training has been cancelled. But, Tottenham stars are keeping themselves busy working on the individual fitness programmes the coaching staff has put them on. (h/t Football.London)
This past Monday, the club also started virtual training for players via video-link. Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho along with a few of his coaching staff have been leading the sessions from the club’s Hotspur Way training facility. The Portuguese himself was seen working up a sweat in a video the club posted on social media on Wednesday.
And speaking about the manager and his impact, Toby Alderweireld told Sky Sports News:
“He’s a very good people manager. Even in this period when it’s difficult and no one has ever experienced it, he is doing wonderful and everyone is so happy he’s here.”
Mourinho took over the reins at Tottenham in November last year after Mauricio Pochettino was sacked. Things began in a positive manner under the Portuguese tactician, but the club’s form was on a decline prior to the season getting suspended.

While the results weren’t going our way of late, it is good to see that the players are enjoying working under Mourinho. With the season currently suspended, it is important that our stars work on their fitness and stay in shape for when the footballing action resumes.
As things stand, Tottenham are eighth in the Premier League table, seven points off of Chelsea in the fourth place.
