Erik Lamela reveals what Spurs players think of Jose Mourinho

According to Stadium Astro (h/t Metro), Tottenham Hotspur star Erik Lamela has revealed what the squad thinks of manager Jose Mourinho.

The 57-year-old took over from Mauricio Pochettino after a poor start to the season. He has since presided over a number of ups and downs in what has been a rocky initiation to life in North London.

Lamela has revealed that the manager is very different from the persona he reveals to the public. Asked if the boss is as touch as he is made out to be, Lamela replied that it was not a problem.

“I think it’s very good to play for him. I know all the team we know him, we know what he wants and the type of person that he is.”

The Argentine attacker has been consistently dogged by injuries during his time at Spurs. He was unavailable when Mourinho took over and described the phrase as a particularly frustrating one.

“It was difficult for me in the first two or three weeks that he was in. But after I enjoy.”

In possession of a wry sense of humour, Mourinho has given us a number of chuckles and digs over the years. The perspective varies depending on where you choose to see it from.

Lamela went on to admit that the players are happy with the manager. He also went on to call Mourinho a normal person and we are at a loss to understand if ‘the special one’ will see the irony in that description.

Spurs have unquestionably improved since Mourinho took charge. He can be given a pass considering the injuries he has had to contend with. The defence, however, remains a concern and will be something the boss needs to look at before the start of next season.
