Former Tottenham and England striker Jimmy Greaves is back home and recuperating after being admitted to a hospital last week.
The 80-year-old World Cup winner had suffered a stroke back in 2015 and was left wheelchair-bound, however, this latest hospital visit was for a different reason.
The Facebook page for the legend also posted a brief update on the former England striker. No further details were provided regarding what the illness was, and the page also asked for privacy from all.
Jimmy’s son, Danny Greaves, also provided an update to the Tottenham Hotspur website. Danny revealed that certain results are awaited and he thanked the NHS for taking care of the legend:
“Dad is comfortable and we are pleased he is back home where he can have some rest and recuperation.
“He has not been well, and we are still waiting on all the results. On behalf of our family, I would like to thank all the NHS staff that have been looking after Dad and for all the well wishes we have received.”
Spurs had reported earlier that Greaves had not tested positive for Covid-19 which has engulfed the UK in recent weeks.
