Marc Cucurella wants to move abroad despite being on the books of Barcelona
Tottenham have been handed a boost in the chase to sign Marc Cucurella of Barcelona, according to Estadio Deportivo (h/t Football.london).
The promising left-back has spent the season with Getafe and has made 33 appearances in all competitions.
Cucurella is still on the books of Barcelona but the report claims that the Spaniard wants a move abroad (h/t Football.london).
Cucurella is a versatile player who can also do a job on the left side of the midfield. The 21-year-old also has one goal and four assists for Getafe this season in all competitions.
Tottenham were linked with the Spaniard earlier in the season (h/t Football.london) and it won’t be easy for us to land the rising star.
Loads of interest in Cucurella
The 21-year-old seems to have attracted the attention of several clubs this season. The report (h/t Football.london) claims that Cucurella wants a new beginning away from La Liga, and Arsenal, Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen are keen on his services.
Tottenham could do with another left-back joining the side in the summer. We have Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon to cover that position but used Danny Rose for half of the season.
Rose was then sent on loan to Newcastle in the winter window. It will be interesting to see what happens with Rose in the summer. Sessegnon, for his part, is yet to show his best for the club.
The Englishman joined from Fulham but struggled for fitness in the first half of this campaign. Davies has done well but we have played Jan Vertonghen at left-back in a few games too.
