Serge Aurier on the radar of Italian giants AC Milan

Tottenham right-back Serge Aurier is one of the targets for Italian giants AC Milan, according to Tuttosport (h/t Calciomercato).

The Serie A giants have two right-backs on their books. However, the report claims that Milan aren’t convinced by Andrea Conti and Davide Calabria.

Both players have failed to light up the San Siro and it seems that AC Milan have had enough. Milan want to sign a new right-back in the summer with Djibril Sidibe and Zeki Celik also options for the Italians (h/t Calciomercato).

Aurier, for his part, has been linked with a move to AC Milan in the past too. The Italians were interested in the Ivorian during the winter window too and they missed out on him at the start of the season as well (h/t Football.london).

Touch choices for Aurier and the club

The Ivorian recently spoke about finishing his career with boyhood club PSG. Aurier had some major issues during his time in Paris but the defender was open to a return to the French capital.

We were able to nab him from PSG, however, Aurier hasn’t been a consistent answer to our right-back issues. The 27-year-old does have 33 appearances for us this season, but he just isn’t consistent enough. Aurier can be a world-beater on one day and then completely lose the plot on another.

Selling him makes some sense given that there is interest in him, but we do not have too many options for this position either.

We did not replace Kieran Trippier, who went off to Atletico Madrid. Further, we allowed Kyle Walker-Peters to leave the club in the winter window, on loan. Jose Mourinho might have to make some tough calls in the summer window, and our defence could be one of the major areas to see changes.
