Jordan Pickford names Harry Kane as his toughest opponent
Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has named Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane as the toughest opponent he has faced.
Speaking to COPA 90, the England international took the name our star striker when he was asked to name the most difficult opponent he had come up against till date.
“Finishing wise it’s got to be Harry Kane. Training with Kane at England, he’s a joke.”
Pickford and Kane have faced off against each other on five occasions in the Premier League. Two games came during the former’s spell at Sunderland, while the remaining three came after he joined Everton.
Tottenham have won all of those fixtures, with Kane playing a huge hand. The 26-year-old has scored eight goals in these five games, including braces in all the three matches against Everton. So, it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that he has picked the England captain as his toughest opponent.
Pickford and Kane are also teammates at the international level and the Everton goalkeeper will have seen from close quarters how deadly our star striker can be in front of goal.
Kane has grown into one of the most potent marksmen across Europe in the past five years. The 26-year-old is already third in the list of our all-time leading goalscorers, with 181 goals from 277 matches.

In the 2019/20 campaign, Kane managed to net 17 goals before a hamstring injury in January sidelined him. Our form has been on a downslide ever since.
With the season currently suspended, there is hope that Kane will be fit by the time the campaign resumes to boost our chances for a top four finish.
