Tottenham fans react to Nordi Mukiele speculations
Tottenham Hotspur have made initial contact with RB Leizpig defender Nordi Mukiele over the possibiltiy of a summer move according to reports in France.
The 22-year-old Frenchman has grown in stature during his time with Leipzig. Able to play as a right-back, a centre-back or as a right-sided midfielder, the versatile defender has shone bright.
In the ongoing season, Mukiele has featured 28 times across all competitions, scoring three goals and setting up two more. The Frenchman was one of Leipzig’s top performers as they eliminated our team from the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 stage last month.
The right-back slot has been a problematic one for our club following the departure of Kieran Trippier. Serge Aurier continues to be a liability while Jose Mourinho does not seem to rate Kyle Walker-Peters. The fact that he loaned out the youngster despite the dearth of options can be considered as indicative of the same.
So, bringing in a new right-sided defender becomes very important ahead of next season. And Mukiele, with his versatility and age, would be quite a good acquisition. Naturally, the links got a lot of our fellow fans excited and here’s how they reacted on social media.

To be frank, Nordi Mukiele or Max Aarons would be a fantastic signing.May not be the star studded signing everyone is hoping for but with age on their side, it might just prove to be a fantastic piece of business in the long term.

Mukiele’s contract with Leipzig runs till the summer of 2023. Given his importance at the club, the Bundesliga aren’t likely to let him go on the cheap. It will be interesting to see if there is any truth to these rumours.
