Spurs Transfer Rumours: Defenders on the move and a surprise goalkeeper
Tottenham Hotspur are busy making the news even when the football on the pitch is suspended. We take a look at the latest Spurs transfer news and rumours of the day.
Inter Milan keen on signing Jan Vertonghen
According to Sempre Inter, Tottenham Hotspur star Jan Vertonghen has been earmarked to replace Diego Godin at Inter Milan.
The Belgian veteran is in the final weeks of his contract and is likely to leave the club once it expires. It will bring to an end an illustrious eight seasons in North London.
Inter see the player as an ideal replacement for Godin who is expected to leave the club in the summer. The Uruguayan has failed to settle in Italy and could be on his way having joined the club only last summer.
A move to the San Siro will see Vertonghen reunite with Christian Eriksen for the third time. They had earlier played together at Ajax Amsterdam and Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs keen on former Stoke goalkeeper
According to HITC.com, Tottenham Hotspur are keen to sign former Stoke City goalkeeper Adnan Kanuric in the summer.
Currently playing for Bosnian side SKF Sered, his performances have caught the attention of the North London giants.
The player’s ability to play from the back has seen him garner interest from the Serie-A with both AC Milan and Fiorentina keen.
The 19-year-old could be available for as little as £5 million. A move will complete a remarkable turnaround for the player who was released by the Potter this January.
With both Michel Vorm and Jonathan De Bie likely to leave the club, Spurs are in need of a keeper. Kanuri might be just that player.
PSG star won over by Mourinho
PSG defender Thomas Meunier has been won over by Jose Mourinho regarding a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
According to French publication L’Equipe (h/t Sportwitness), the Spurs’ boss desire to bring the player across the channel has been met well by the Belgian.
A free agent in the summer, Meunier will give us a less volatile option at right-back when compared to Serge Aurier.
Ligue One ide preparing for life sans Spurs target
According to Spursweb, Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Nice defender Youcef Atal.
The French side are preparing for life without the player and have already contacted Young Boys for right-back Jordan Lotomba.
