Spurs fans react as Mauricio Pochettino vows to return to club one day
Former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has vowed to return to the club one day and ‘finish the work that we didn’t finish.’ (h/t Mirror)
Pochettino enjoyed a stellar five-year spell at Tottenham, having taken over the reins at the club in 2014. The Argentine helped establish Spurs as a regular top-four club, while he led us to the Champions League final as well last season.
However, a disappointing start to the ongoing campaign saw him getting sacked in November last year. Currently unattached, Pochettino has been heavily linked with the managerial job at Newcastle United, once their massive takeover is completed.
He may be take the job at Newcastle or not, but Pochettino has revealed that he dreams of returning to Tottenham one day and win a trophy with our club. Speaking on BT Sport (h/t Mirror), he said:
“But deeper in my chest, my soul, my heart – I am sure that we will cross [paths] again. From the day that I left the club, my dream is to be back and to try to finish the work that we didn’t finish.”
The former manager’s words struck a chord with the Tottenham supporters, who reacted on the statement with great fervour.
