Spurs Transfer Rumours: Stoke City youngster linked, Frenchman interested in move

Tottenham Hotspur are making the news even when the football on the pitch is suspended. We take a look at the latest Spurs transfer news and rumours of the day.

Stoke City’s Mohamed Sankon on Spurs’ radar

According to an exclusive report from Football Insider, Tottenham have joined the race to sign Stoke City’s teenage striker Mohamed Sankoh. The 16-year-old is yet to be capped by the Potters’ first-team, but is attracting interest from a number of clubs including Chelsea and Celtic.

The Dutch youngster joined Stoke in 2018 from Sparta Rotterdam and has impressed heavily with the youth teams. Compared with Inter Milan star Romelu Lukaku, Sankoh was part of the Netherlands U17 side that won the European U17 championship last year.

Sankoh, still 16, is yet to sign a professional contract with Stoke. And as a result, he will be available for a small compensation fee. The striker is reportedly keen on joining an elite club. The race to secure the youngster’s services is heating up.

West Ham star Issa Diop open to joining Tottenham

As per a report from French publication Foot Mercato, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has made West Ham defender Issa Diop one of his top priority targets ahead of the summer. And the Frenchman is believed to be open to joining the North Londoners.

Diop, since joining the Hammers in 2018, has been one of their best players. Mourinho has praised the centre-back previously, and given the current state of Tottenham’s defence, he would be a good addition to the squad. The fact that the defender is keen on a move should come as a boost for the club.

However, West Ham are likely to demand a hefty fee for the former Toulouse man, which would complicate matters for Spurs as the club will be operating on a restricted transfer budget.

Tottenham interested in Brazilian talent Gerson, claims father

In an interview with ESPN FC Brasil journalist Jorge Nicola, the father of Brazilian midfielder Gerson has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in securing his services.

The 22-year-old Flamengo midfielder failed to make much of an impact during his previous stint in Europe with AS Roma and Fiorentna. But since returning to Brazil with Flamengo, Gerson’s stock is on the rise. He played a key role in the club’s Copa Libertadores success last season.

Fraser has been with Bournemouth for over seven years. Till date, he has notched up over 200 appearances for the Cherries, bagging 24 goals and 33 assists. The 26-year-old Scotsman has been linked heavily with a move to Tottenham this summer, while rivals Arsenal are also interested in the winger’s services.
