Boost for Tottenham Hotspur as Premier League could resume after June 1
According to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a boost with the Premier League set for a possible return after June 1st.
As per the government’s plan to exit the lockdown, the road-map suggests that sport and cultural events can take place behind-closed-doors for broadcast, no earlier than June 1. (h/t Sky Sports)
The news will come as a relief for Tottenham who are set to gain both on and off the pitch if everything goes according to plan.
The Lilywhites have enjoyed a rather lackluster season which is set to end trophyless once again. However, with a number of key players set to return from injury, Spurs can have a go at securing a Champions League spot.
The Lilywhites are currently in eighth spot, seven points off fourth-placed Chelsea. With nine games remaining, it is not outside the realms of possibility that we can overtake our Blue rivals.
Having the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Moussa Sissoko and Steven Bergwijn will provide Jose Mourinho to launch a proper attack at the coveted fourth spot.
With all hands on deck, Spurs will do well to throw the kitchen sink at the teams we face in our final nine games.
Money talks!
We are also set to gain financially with the return of on-field action. Tottenham were set to be one of the biggest losers if the season would have been suspended. With the stadium loan and outstanding transfer fees yet to be paid, the opening of revenue streams will come as welcome news to Daniel Levy.
This can be further strengthened if we manage to qualify for Europe’s premier competition. With a full-strength squad available, Spurs are a different animal altogether.

It is imperative that we qualify for the Champions League. Not doing so will not just place a financial strain on the club, but also affect our ability to recruit elite talent.
