West Brom to battle Tottenham for Vedat Muriqi
According to a report from Turkish publication Aksam (h/t Birmingham Live), Tottenham will have to compete with EFL Championship side West Bromwich Albion for the signing of Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi.
Muriqi, 26, has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur for a while now.
The striker joined Fenerbahce last summer and has enjoyed an impressive debut campaign. He has scored 15 goals and assisted six more in 28 matches in all competitions. A regular for the Kosovo national team, the ace striker has scored eight goals in 23 international caps.
Only last week, Kosovo Football Federation president Agim Ademi claimed that Spurs are heavily interested in the 26-year-old and are ‘ready to pay whatever’ to sign the striker.
However, West Brom have now entered the race to sign the Kosovan ace. They are willing to offer £18m to secure his signature. (h/t Birmingham Live)
This is unlikely to deter Tottenham in their pursuit of the 26-year-old. Jose Mourinho needs to bring in a new striker to cover for Harry Kane next season, if Spurs do not want to be left short on options in attack like this term.
Muriqi, to that end, would be a sensible addition. The Kosovan international is a good, all-round striker, who has been in good nick for the past couple of seasons.

Moreover, Muriqi reportedly dreams of playing under Jose Mourinho. Plus the lure of playing in the Premier League should help us trump West Brom in the chase for the Fenerbahce man. It remains to be seen if the club is able to secure the 26-year-old’s signing this summer.
