Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane delivers fitness update
Tottenham Hotspur superstar and England captain Harry Kane has delivered a major injury update as the Premier League gears up for a return in the next month. (h/t Football.london)
The 26-year-old striker has been out injured since the turn of the year. His absence coincided with a disappointing phase for the club as results dwindled and the team crashed out of all cup competitions, while dropping to eight place in the league table.
With ‘Project Restart’ going ahead at full pace, Premier League is targeting a return in June. And Kane has now provided an update on his fitness, which will come as great news for the fans. (h/t Football.london)
The England captain got in touch with former Leeds United striker Colin Grainger, 86, to check on him during lockdown. While conversing, the former Leeds man asked how Kane’s injury was bearing up, to which he replied (h/t Football.london):
“I’m doing well thank you, I’m fit and well, we’ve started to do a little bit more training so I’ve been able to do a bit of one-on-one training with the coaches.”
This will come as music to the ears of all Tottenham fans. With the England international now closing in on full fitness, and the likes of Son Heung-min, Moussa Sissoko and Steven Bergwijn also expected be available, we can mount a serious challenge for a top four finish.
