Leeds United are keen on Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth
According to Football Insider (h/t Birmingham Mail), Leeds United are keen on out of favor Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth.
The youngster’s move to Tottenham has not panned out as expected. Brought in by Mauricio Pochettino, Foyth has seen his opportunities further limited under new manager Jose Mourinho. He has failed to make an appearance since playing against Norwich City in December.
He has fallen further down the pecking order since the emergence of Japhet Tanganga. Foyth may have no other option but to resurrect his career elsewhere. Talking about the issue, Claudio Curti revealed that he does not believe Foyth’s future lies at Tottenham.
Leeds is likely to be an interesting option, given their rise under Marcelo Bielsa. An Argentine himself, the Leeds boss is likely to have a better understanding of his countryman’s traits.
He has completely transformed the Elland Roadside. They are now a cohesive unit who outweigh the sum of their parts.
According to the report, if Leeds are promoted to the Premier League, they will most likely look to add some depth to their squad. With the future of Ben White still unclear, adding another defender could be on the agenda.
Currently on top of the table with nine games to go, it will take a collapse of some magnitude for Leeds to miss out on promotion.
At just 22, Foyth will be joining a side that is managed by a person who has a proven track record at getting the best out of his resources. It could very well prove to be the break the defender needs.
