Harry Kane could move to Real Madrid if they miss out on Erling Haaland

According to ESPN FC pundit Shaka Hislop (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur ace Harry Kane has been backed to join Real Madrid to replace the ageing Karim Benzema.

The Frenchman has had a successful spell at Real Madrid. He will turn 33 this year, necessitating the club to seek out a long-term replacement.

Kane fits the bill of an infallible scorer. He has notched up at least 24 goals in his last five seasons. He would have made it six had it not been for his injury in January. With nine more games to go, he can still end the season with a bang. (h/t Express)

Hislop has lavished praise on the Spurs ace, who he believes can fit any system. Given the choice between Benzema and Kane, Hislop had no qualms in choosing the latter. Perfectly understandable considering we would do the same.

“Pound for pound, if you asked me to choose between the two right now, I take Harry Kane.”

The England captain’s future was up in the air after he admitted that he might have to leave the club to further his career. This has seen him get linked to a number of clubs such as Manchester United, Juventus, and Real Madrid.

Hislop is another pundit who prefers Haaland over Kane at Madrid.

“But left up to me, if I’m building a squad, I’m leaning Haaland.”

Kane has returned to training and will be available when the league restarts. His return will add to our attempts of breaking into the top four.

Real may or may not sign Haaland, but if they do set their sights on Kane, they have a real battle on their hands.
