Jose Mourinho provides an update on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that both Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min are fine. He is, however, unsure whether they both are ready to play.

Two of the club’s top scorers this season, Spurs have struggled in their absence this season. Kane has been sidelined since January while Son injured himself in February.

This has led to a drop in our offensive threat as we struggled to put the ball in the back of the net. It was expected that the duo would be out for the rest of the season.

The unexpected break due to the COVID-19 crisis has been a boon in disguise for Tottenham. With nine more games to go, Spurs now face the prospect of having their two aces back in the reckoning.

Both Kane and Son have returned to training. However, with sessions currently limited, Mourinho is unsure as to whether the pair are match fit.

“I cannot say in this moment they are ready to play because one thing is to recover from an injury, and another is to be ready to play football.”

Mourinho confirmed that social distancing has put limits on bringing the players back to fitness.

“Training has a lot of limitations. We cannot compete, we cannot do one versus one, we have to keep a certain distance, we cannot compete.”

The duo aren’t the only Spurs players returning from injury. Steven Bergwijn and Moussa Sissoko are also back in training giving Mourinho more options.

Mourinho believes the players will be in a better position once they train normally for two weeks. It remains to be seen when that will be.
