Tottenham Hotspur announce Nikki Peddie as third #HotspurHero
It has been more than a week since Tottenham Hotspur launched the Hotspur Heroes campaign. The purpose of this initiative is to highlight the work of Spurs fans at the forefront of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The club has given the fans an opportunity to nominate those deserving of recognition who will then be celebrated for their contributions.
We had earlier taken a look at the efforts made by Danielle Morrish, an NHS receptionist from London, and Rob Moses, a teacher at Hazelwood School, Surrey.
Third on this illustrious list, as confirmed by the club’s official site is Nikki Peddie, a nurse with the NHS at Southend University Hospital.
Serving right on the frontlines, she works close to 60 hours a week. Apart from having to deal with the trauma first-hand, she also teaches her teenage sons Dylan and Sol during her time off at home. (h/t TottenhamHotspur.com)
Nominated by her boyfriend Dan, Nikki comes across as a modest person who lets her job do the talking. She also insisted that her patients and their families should get the real credit. (h/t TottenhamHotspur.com)
“I don’t consider myself a hero – the real heroes are the families and the patients.”
She admits that the lack of patient contact has made her job a tough one. Thankfully she has excellent managers at her unit who are supportive and run things smoothly.
An ardent Spurs fan, a mutual love for the club is what led her to Dan. It is good to see that the club has been a positive influence on her even off the pitch.
A lifelong fan who has Spurs in her blood, the affiliation has been passed down over generations. Her favorite players are Glenn Hoddle and Chris Waddle.

She is also the assistant manager at the Southend Manor football team. Her youngest son, a striker who plays there, is an ardent fan of Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min. Her eldest son at the same time is devoted to Eric Dier. (h/t TottenhamHotspur.com)
